Join us on Monday, September 29 as we kickoff the 2025-2026 season with a look at green spaces in the Grand Rapids area! Our theme this season is increasing wild space conservation to make birding available to more people in more places.
For our first session, Catherine Zietse from Downtown Grand Rapids Inc. will tell us about the spectacular Grand River Greenway project: a growing network of public parks, trails and natural areas linking West Michigan communities to the Grand River – from Lowell to the Lakeshore.
A $150 million investment over the next two years will provide more places for people to experience and explore the Grand River corridor by walking, biking, paddling, fishing and other activities. The Greenway will enrich the health, happiness and quality of life for residents and visitors in West Michigan and the wildlife that depend on these natural habitats.
This program is FREE and open to the public, who may attend as guests of the Grand Rapids Audubon Club. Doors open at 7:00pm; come early to meet fellow members, browse the large selection of library items, and connect with others about birding. The program begins at 7:30 pm.
Event will be held in the Donnelly Center at Aquinas College, located at 157 Woodward Lane SE between Fulton Street and Robinson Road. Parking is available in Lots "S" and "T" off Woodward Ln. The Donnelly Center entrance is on the north side of the building.
